Two Saskatchewan players—Sonia Dusyk of Regina and Sheila Lyons of Saskatoon—each won big in the October 7 EXTRA draw, claiming their prizes on October 31, 2025.
On October 7, two women from opposite ends of the province, Sonia Dusyk of Regina and Sheila Lyons of Saskatoon, each walked away with life-changing prizes thanks to the EXTRA add-on.
Both winners officially claimed their prizes on October 31, 2025, turning Halloween eve into a celebration neither will forget.
The two players have never met, but now share a date—and a story—they’ll remember for years.
Regina Winner Scores $250,002
Sonia Dusyk won a remarkable $250,002 on her LOTTO MAX & EXTRA ticket, purchased during a quick stop at Co-op Food Store (2925 Quance St. E, Regina).
When she checked her ticket, she couldn’t believe what she was seeing.
“I had to look two or three times to make sure I was seeing it right,” she said with a laugh. “It was such a shock!”
Dusyk says she’s in no hurry to make big decisions just yet.
“I think I’ll just invest it,” she added.
Saskatoon Player Celebrates a $100,000 Win
Meanwhile, in Saskatoon, Sheila Lyons picked up her LOTTO MAX & EXTRA ticket at Shoppers Drug Mart (610 Taylor St. E)—and later found out she had won $100,000.
Her first reaction was to call a close friend.
“I told one of my best friends and she just said, ‘ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!’” Lyons laughed. “She was really excited.”
Like Dusyk, Lyons is still taking time to decide how she’ll use her newfound winnings.
“I really have to think about it. I don’t have any plans right now.”
A Rare Double Win
Two EXTRA winners from Saskatchewan on the same draw date doesn’t happen often. In fact, the last time it did was back on June 2, 2023, when winners from Regina and Rouleau each claimed $100,000 prizes.
With both winners claiming their prizes on October 31, 2025, their stories now join a small and memorable list of Saskatchewan lottery coincidences—two lucky players, two big wins, and one unforgettable date.
