Two $100,000 Powerball Prizes in Illinois Still Unclaimed

Illinois is home to two unclaimed Powerball prizes worth $100,000 each, and the Illinois Lottery is urging players across the state to double-check their old tickets before time runs out.

The first unclaimed prize comes from the March 19, 2025 Powerball drawing. The winning ticket was sold at Cicero Shell Group Inc, located at 4900 S. Cicero, Chicago, IL 60638. Despite the busy location and high daily foot traffic, no winner has stepped forward to claim the six-figure prize.

The second outstanding prize stems from the March 12, 2025 drawing. That ticket was purchased at Speedway #5036, found at 110 Arrowhead Dr., Hampshire, IL 60140. Like the Chicago prize, this $100,000 windfall is waiting for someone who may not even realize they’re holding it.

Under Illinois law, all lottery prizes must be claimed within one year of the drawing date. That means the March 19 ticket expires in March 2026, and the March 12 ticket expires just a week earlier. If both go unclaimed, the combined $200,000 will revert back into the state’s unclaimed prize fund—money that could have made a massive impact on two lucky players.

Lottery officials recommend checking places where forgotten tickets often hide: old purses, backpacks, winter jackets, junk drawers, or the car glove box. Even a quick look could turn an overlooked slip of paper into a life-changing cash prize.

With two major wins still in limbo, Illinois players are encouraged to scan their tickets, review their numbers, and spread the word—because somewhere out there are two winning tickets worth $100,000 each, waiting for their rightful owners.
