One quick scroll through the official South African National Lottery (Ithuba) Facebook page and you’re bound to find a good handful of comments by lottery enthusiasts, discontent with having to play the lottery online.
It’s not difficult to understand the rationale behind keeping lottery-goers indoors – with the exponential spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) the more people that remain in their homes, the better.
However, this doesn’t seem to deter some lottery players who have expressed their frustration. Some are simply asking when they will be able to play in-store and some are bringing up concerns with regards to the application supplied by Ithuba.
There have also been many in the past who have suggested that it is a privilege to be able to play the lottery online, with a good portion of individuals unable to access the internet, especially in times of financial trouble.
