Georgia claims its largest-ever Mega Millions jackpot: $983M won after a record 40-draw streak, with 14.3 million winners nationwide.
Georgia has a new place in lottery history after one ticket sold in the state matched all six numbers in Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing, capturing a staggering $983 million jackpot. It is officially the largest Mega Millions prize ever won in Georgia, and the eighth-largest jackpot in the history of the game.
The winning numbers for the November 14 draw were 1, 8, 11, 12, 57, and the gold Mega Ball 7. The jackpot came in slightly higher than estimated, thanks to stronger-than-expected sales.
Georgia’s Biggest Mega Millions Win Ever
Georgia, one of the founding states of the Mega Millions game, has celebrated several big wins over the years — but nothing like this. The state’s previous biggest Mega Millions jackpot win came in 2016. Nearly a decade later, Georgia has rewritten the record books.

A Jackpot Born From a Historic 40-Draw Run
This massive win ended what has been the longest jackpot run in Mega Millions history: 40 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner, stretching back to the $348 million win in Virginia on June 27.
During this historic streak, players across the country won more than ever before under the game’s upgraded prize structure.
14.3 Million Winning Tickets Nationwide
The extended jackpot run produced a wave of winners:
- Nearly 14.3 million winning tickets were scored across all prize tiers nationwide.
- Total non-jackpot winnings reached nearly $343.4 million.
- These included 21 second-tier prizes worth $2 million or more, claimed in states including Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Texas and Virginia.
- Another 347 third-tier wins landed between $20,000 and $100,000, spread across 40 different states.
In the November 14 drawing alone, there were 1,112,941 winning tickets — plus the single jackpot-winning ticket that changed Georgia lottery history.
One Michigan player also struck a $3 million win after matching all five white balls with a 3X Megaplier.
A Year of Big Mega Millions Wins

- Arizona – January 17 ($112 million)
- Illinois – March 25 ($349 million)
- Ohio – April 18 ($112 million)
- Virginia – June 27 ($348 million)
And now, the biggest Georgia jackpot ever — and one of the biggest jackpots ever awarded in the U.S.
Next Jackpot Up for Grabs
Looking ahead, Mega Millions players have a new chance to chase big winnings: the next estimated jackpot is $50 million with a cash option of $23.2 million, set for the Tuesday, November 18 drawing. Will Georgia see another historic win? Only time will tell!
