For those participating in today’s SA Powerball draw on Friday, 4 October 2024, the Most Overdue and Cold Numbers to watch are:
| Cold Number | Last drawn |
| 1 | 29 March 2024 |
| 21 | 10 May 2024 |
| 4 | 4 June 2024 |
| 41 | 7 June 2024 |
| 50 | 11 June 2024 |
| 24 | 14 June 2024 |
| 45 | 9 July 2024 |
The rationale for selecting Cold Numbers is based on the belief that numbers which haven’t been drawn for a while are statistically “due” to appear, with players hoping that these underrepresented numbers will soon reemerge, despite the random nature of lottery draws.
This strategy gives players a psychological sense of increased odds, even though each draw is statistically independent.
While we can’t predict the future, there are ways that may allow us to better predict certain numbers, provided luck is on our side. See this guide for more details.
